Experiment
An experiment is a research method in which a researcher manipulates on or more independent variables to observe, in the case of healthcare studies, its effect on subjects' health, the dependent variable. Investigators use random samples and double-blind studies to prevent (control for) other factors such as age or socioeconomic status from affecting the results of the experiment.
